There have been so many great people in history that have influenced me to keep going in my life, when things get tough. No matter what, some people are so persistent in their activities, that they gain this admiration for their strength and will.

Hell, I will be the first to admit that I try to model myself after these individuals. Ironically enough, Abraham Lincoln is my favorite person in history.

Consider this: Lincoln had a country to lead that was divided over the many issues of slavery, economics and so forth. And yet, he had the will to continue his presidency throught these obviously troubled times.

I don’t know how a man can wake up in the morning knowing that he will be receiving a casualty list of KIA [Killed In Actions] from a battle between brothers, cousins, fathers and sons.

I go to bed some days, not wanting to get up in the morning; hoping that by some act of the Almighty that I won’t get up. But then again, how would anyone want to get up when life sucks?

I cannot begin to imagine what it was like for Lincoln. I do not want to fathom it.

I would like to thank the mysterious person who wrote the entry in my Guestbook about Lincoln. Very clever, but I will not be getting rid of my beard any time soon.

By the way, fuck you.
